Concentrate on the GPU
Most games rely on the GPU, which cannot be upgraded.
If you get a powerful GPU today, you’ll be able to play comfortably for several years.
Some parts can be upgraded later
While the biggest gaming CPUs and GPUs are almost usually soldered on, most gaming laptops allow you to upgrade your RAM and storage space, allowing you to buy a smaller one now and upgrade to a bigger drive later.
Battery life will most likely be poor
Few gaming laptops will last more than 8 hours on battery, and you’ll need a power supply to get the optimal gaming experience.
However, AMD’s Ryzen CPUs have produced some impressive results, and Nvidia’s improved Optimus technology could help turn things around.
