How to convert a PDF to a Word document

I would like to say hi!

Here we will show you how to convert a PDF file to Microsoft Word format.
You can make changes to a PDF file when you convert it to a DOCX or DOC file.
Although you may lose some formatting during conversion, you can always make changes in Word.

Using Microsoft Word

  1. Right-click the PDF you want to open and select Open with.
If you’re using a Mac and don’t have the right mouse button, click on the file while using Control.
    A context menu will appear.
  2. Select the program to open.
It can be found at the top of the menu.
    A new menu will appear.
  3. In the menu, select Word or Microsoft Word.
This starts Word and tries to open the PDF.
  4. To convert the file, click OK.
The file will be converted to Word format and the results will be displayed.
If you are converting a large file, expect it to take a few minutes.
  5. Make changes to the Word document.
Due to the line and page breaks, images, and other elements, the translated document may not have perfect page-to-page correspondence.
It may be necessary to make manual changes.
You’ll notice a bar at the top of the page if you downloaded the PDF from the Internet, asking if you want to allow editing.
To make changes to the file, click Enable Editing.
  6. Save the transformed PDF.
When you’re ready to save the converted file as a separate Word document, follow these steps:
    – Windows users should go to File, Save As, This Computer, type a file name, select a save location on the left side of the window, and click Save.
    – Mac users should go to File, Save As, type a name, choose a location for the file, then click Save.

Using Google Docs

  1. In your computer’s web browser, go to https://docs.google.com.
If you’re signed in to your Google account, this will take you to the Google Docs page.
If prompted, enter your email address and password if you’re not already logged in.
You may need to click Go to Google Docs in the middle of the page first.
One downside to using Google Docs to convert PDFs is that none of the PDF images will be saved.
  2. Select the Upload icon.
This can be found in the top right corner of your file list, just below the last gallery template.
  3. Switch to the Upload tab.
It is located in the upper right corner of the Open File window.
  4. Click Choose a file from your computer or mobile device.
It’s the blue button in the middle of the window.
  5. Click Open after selecting the PDF file.
This saves the PDF file to your Google Drive and displays a preview once it’s finished.
  6. Select Open from the menu option.
It is located in the upper right corner of the window.
Move the cursor to the top of the window if you don’t see the Open with a drop-down box.
  7. Select Google Docs from the menu.
This will open the PDF document in Google Docs.
You can add Google Docs to the drop-down menu if it isn’t already there, click Connect additional apps in the drop-down menu, search for Google Docs, and then install.
  8. Create a Word document from a PDF.
You can save the document as a Microsoft Word file and download it to your computer now that you’ve opened it in Documents.
    Here’s how to do it:
  1. In the top left corner of the Google Docs page, click File.
  2. Select Download.
  3. Select Microsoft Word (.docx) as the format.
  4. If prompted, select a save location and/or click Save.

Using Adobe Acrobat DC Pro

  1. Adobe Acrobat DC Pro should be open.
You can convert your PDF to a Word document if you have the premium version of Adobe Acrobat.
This software can be found in the Windows Start menu or the Applications folder on your Mac computer.
  2. Right-click the PDF you want to open and select Open with.
You can convert a PDF to a Word document if you have Adobe Acrobat Pro (a premium version of Acrobat). A context menu will appear when you right-click a file on your computer.
If you’re using a Mac and don’t have the right mouse button, click the file while using Control.
  3. Select Open with.
It can be found at the top of the menu.
    A new menu will appear.
  4. Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Acrobat Pro DC are two options.
This starts with Acrobat Pro and opens the PDF.
  5. Then select PDF export.
This tool can be found on the right side.
A drop-down menu with file types will appear.
  6. Choose Microsoft Word as the export format.
    Additional alternatives will be available.
  7. Then select the Word document.
On the right, it’s the first choice.
This instructs Acrobat to create a specific type of document.
  8. Click the Export button.
The file will now be converted and Acrobat will ask you to name it.
  9. Save the file under a new name.
You can now open and modify a PDF in Microsoft Word after saving it as a Word document.
