How to change the background color of a slide in PowerPoint

I would like to say hi!

With Microsoft PowerPoint, a slide’s backdrop is always white.
An individual slide’s backdrop can be changed to draw more attention to it.
You may alter the backdrop to a single color or create a gradient that changes the color from lighter to darker.

Changing a slide background color

The procedures listed below may be used to alter the color of a slide in your PowerPoint presentation.

  1. Open the Microsoft PowerPoint program.
  2. Click the Design tab in the Ribbon.
  3. On the right side of the Design tab, select Format Background.
Another option is to right-click a slide’s border and choose Format Background from the pop-up menu that appears.
  4. Choose Solid fill or Gradient fill in the Format Background box that appears.
  5. Choose whether you want to use solid or gradient colors.
After choosing one of these options, the backdrop color changes.

You can choose a photo to serve as the slide backdrop in step 4 above.

Choose a photo from the Picture source section by selecting the Picture or texture fill option.
