How to backup an iPhone or iPad to a Google account

I would like to say hi!

Google One can automatically backup your mobile device.
If you backup your smartphone, you might have another copy of your photos, videos, contacts, and other data on the cloud.
When you obtain a new device, restore from your backup to get your data back.

Where is phone’s data stored

Google One subscribers cannot use Google One to backup their complete iPhone.
You may, however, backup some files to other Google apps like Photos, Calendar, and Contacts.

This is where your iPhone info is synced:

  • Photos and videos, whether originals or storage savers are synced to Google Photos.
  • Contacts are synced with Google Contacts.
    • Contact photos are not yet accessible.
  • Calendar entries are synced to Google Calendar.

Contacts and calendar events do not consume storage space.

What information is preserved by Apple iCloud Backup

Because Apple backs up some items, you don’t need to enable Google One’s backup to keep this data. These files are as follows:

  • SMS texts, iMessages, and MMS messages.
  • App information.
  • Configuration of the device.

Visit the support center for the most up-to-date list and additional information about iCloud.

What information is backed by Google One

  • Photos and videos of original quality (saved to Google Photos).
  • Meetings and activities on the calendar (saved to Google Calendar).
  • Phone numbers and email addresses are examples of contact information (saved to Google Contacts).

Start or stop a backup

You may sync your iPhone or iPad’s photographs and videos, contacts, and calendar events to your Google Account automatically.

If you don’t have access to Wi-Fi, you may backup your files using cellular data.
Turn off the cellular data option if this consumes too much of your data.

After you’ve selected your backup options, you can begin backing up your phone right away.
