A shape can be altered by altering its attributes, such as size, color, and fill after it has been added.
Add shapes to Word
- Click the Insert tab at the top of the Microsoft Word program window.
- Click Shapes under the Illustrations category on the Insert tab.
- The drop-down menu that displays will allow you to choose the form type that you wish to add or draw.
Add shapes to Excel
- Click the Insert tab at the top of the program window in Microsoft Excel.
- Click Illustrations, then Shapes, on the Insert tab.

Modify shapes
- To choose a shape, click on it.
- To format a shape, right-click it and choose Format Shape from the pop-up menu.
- On the right side of the application window, the Format Shape section appears.
The fill of the shape may be altered, along with the type, color, and line style of the fill.
Additionally, you may apply effects like reflection, shine, and shadow.
